Rollei Unveils Gun-style Movieline DV5 HD Camcorder

Oh yeah, another contender on the HD camcorder market, trying to ride the wave.

Rollei is unveiling its own models that can record HD video at resolutions of up to 1,440 x 1,080.

In addition to shooting video, the gun-style Movieline DV5 can also snap 5 MP still images. It boasts a 5x optical zoom lens, 2.5" colour LCD, and 32 MB of internal storage (expandable up to 8 GB via optional SD/SDHC memory card media). Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to one-hour of continuous video recording, the compact DV5 will be available in black, red, or blue finish.

New to the digicam line is the Flexline 140, which can snap images at up to 10 MP resolution and using a 4x optical Apogon zoom lens. Equipped with a 3" LCD, the thinly-designed 140 (it measures 19.2 mm in depth) also includes advanced shooting modes, like panorama and continuous shooting; plus a photo album, frame, and burst functions. It also incorporates anti-shake technology that aids in producing blur-free images; as well as face and smile detection. Like the DV5, it holds 32 MB of memory internally, but can accept memory cards up to 8 GB in capacity. It can also record video. This model will come in a choice of black, blue, or the newly-popular bronze hue.
